I love introducing people to community acupuncture for IVF support because so many don’t realize it’s an option. You get the same targeted, highly-customized treatments as you would in a private session, tailored to your personal fertility needs, but in a spacious and serene open room instead of a cubicle, allowing for affordable, accessible healing.
Using acupuncture as a support tool for reproductive technology can make a huge difference in both the experience and the outcome. I was fortunate to be exposed to the incredible work of Dr. Lifang Liang at my alma mater, the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco. In her book on the topic she wrote, “In China, we believe two hands are better than one. Similarly, when it comes to medicine, I believe two methods are better than only one method.” Acupuncture pairs wonderfully with IVF and IUI in several ways, as treatments work to:
boost blood flow to the uterine lining
support ovarian vitality
increase follicle counts
and allow your nervous system to move gently toward a resting, relaxed state.
I designed my clinical services to be easy to fit into your life. With an affordable treatment fee and appointments that don’t require a month’s notice (you can even text me same-day to squeeze in), you can come in regularly during your IVF cycle, especially for those important pre- and post-embryo transfer sessions. Treatments are comfortable, as most of my protocols stick to points on the hands, feet, head, and ears. Every now and then, I’ll add a few needles into the abdomen (depending on your needs and where you are in the process), but a light blanket keeps you covered.
Dr. Liang’s protocols have been the backbone of so many successes I’ve seen in my practice over the years, and it’s a privilege to be part of this journey with my patients.
